Make Rolling Convenient

While rolling a joint can be done with just your hands and a rolling paper, some tools can make the process significantly easier and more efficient:

  • Filter Tips: Also known as crutches or roaches, are small, cylindrical pieces of paper or cardboard that are inserted into the end of a joint to act as a filter. They prevent bits of plant matter from being inhaled, as well as provide a stable structure to hold the joint while smoking. Filter tips can be purchased pre-made or can be easily made at home with materials like index cards or business cards.
  • Grinder: A grinder can help break down the cannabis into smaller, uniform pieces, making it easier to roll and creating a smoother smoking experience.

  • Rolling Machine: A rolling machine can help beginners roll a joint more easily, but it can also be helpful for more experienced smokers who want a quicker rolling process. That being said, a machine rolled joint will never beat the quality of burn of a properly hand rolled one!

  • Rolling Tray- If you are going to consistently smoke in one spot, a rolling tray will help you keep all of your rolling accessories together. It will also reduce the amount of residue will inevitably end up on random flat surfaces through out your house.

Step-by-Step Guide to Roll a Joint.

Rolling a joint is a rite of passage for many cannabis enthusiasts, but it can be intimidating for those who have never done it before. Fortunately, with a little practice and the right technique, anyone can roll a joint like snoop. Remember, everything takes practice, so don't be discouraged if your first few attempts don't turn out perfectly. In fact, if they do, my younger self will be jealous of you.

  1. Grind the cannabis: The first step in rolling a joint is to grind the cannabis. You can use a grinder or your hands to break up the cannabis into small pieces. Make sure the cannabis is evenly ground for the best smoking experience.

  2. Prepare the rolling paper: Take a rolling paper and fold it in half, with the gum side facing you. This will create a crease in the middle of the paper that will make it easier to roll the joint.

  3. Place your filter: some prefer to do this step after loading the bud into the paper, I prefer to do it before. Simply roll up your filter, or place your glass one, and set it inside the paper
  4. Load the cannabis: Place the ground cannabis in the crease of the paper. Use your fingers to shape the cannabis into a cylinder shape, with the paper around it. Make sure there is enough cannabis to fill the paper, but not so much that it becomes difficult to roll.

  5. Shape the joint: Tuck the side of the paper closest to you under the cannabis and roll it upward, using your thumbs to shape the joint. Keep rolling until you reach the gummed edge of the paper.

  6. Seal the joint: Lick the gummed edge of the paper and seal the joint. Use your fingers to press the gummed edge down firmly so that it sticks.

  7. Finish the joint: Twist the end of the joint to close it off. This will help prevent cannabis from falling out of the end while you smoke it. You can also use a small piece of cardboard or a filter to create a crutch, which will make it easier to hold and smoke the joint.

Now you have a rolled joint! Light it up, sit back, and enjoy your cannabis experience.
